Contra Costa, Kalifornia (east bay) county is about to follow the lead of their comrades to the south in banning any firearm that will fire the .50 BMG cartridge. Never mind the fact that not one weapon that accepts this caliber has ever been used in a crime. They don't care about facts, they just prey on the fears of irrational people, and make laws based on that alone. We can add Contra Costa to the list of dumbass commie counties in Kalifornia that need to be wiped clean off the face of the Earth. First they want to say that an "assault weapon" is any rifle with a pistol grip, threaded muzzle, bayonet lug, and a detachable magazine (especially those big bad 30 rounders), or any pistol with a detachable magazine that doesn't go into the grip, a threaded barrel, a barrel shroud (you must be able to burn the shit out of your hands), or one that is just too damn heavy. Now they want to add firearms that will only take 1 round at a time to the list. Really doesn't make a whole helluva lot of sense to me. How can you change your definitions so easily just to fit your agenda of banning all guns outright? If anyone really doesn't see what's going on here then they're totally fucking blind, and ignorant as shit. These people will not stop until every gun that is made is illegal, and they have them all. Once they (and the street thugs) have all the guns, you won't be safe anywhere, not in your home, not at work, not at school, not anywhere. One of the real aims of this legislation is to get your guns, and you on a list, this was they know exactly where to come to pick up your guns when they outlaw them once and for all.

Kalifornia has already banned post ban "assault weapons", and there are few grandfathered ones in the state. I don't even believe that they are allowed to be transferred to new owners (although I could be wrong). Once they ban the .50 BMG, they will turn their sights on other types or firearms. I can see the day that they label your standard bolt action hunting rifles as "sniper rifles" and ban them. They will ban each and every handgun as tools of criminals, they will go after shotguns as being too dangerous and useless for the average person to use.

If you remember, and it's pretty hard to forget, the North Hollywood shootout, where two men armed with true assault rifles robbed a Bank of America branch. They shot up the city, injuring allot of police and civilians in the process. These where actual criminals, they where criminals before they robbed the bank, as a matter of fact, they where busted just a few weeks before they terrorized the city. They had most all of the weapons confiscated by police, unfortunately for the subjects that live around North Hollywood, a judge released then, and ordered the police to give their illegal weapons back to them. If it had been someone who had never been arrested before in their lives, and they got caught carrying a concealed weapon in that state, they most likely would've been locked up and had their lives ruined.

On the other coast New Jersey now has a law that says that once one manufacturer has a production "smart gun" only "smart guns" will be legal for sale in the state. Of coarse they had to go back and amend the new law to exempt police and military, they can't be held to the same standards as normal people. They can't risk their lives to technology that isn't reliable the way that you will be forced to. If you can't protect yourself that's good, if the government storm troopers can't protect themselves then that's bad. One of the main arguments for passing this law was in case a cop had his gun taken away from him the criminal can't use it against him, now that law enforcement is exempt, that's a bogus argument now isn't it. It's just one more way for the government to make sure that you're helpless when they come for your guns. New Jersey spreads their propaganda wherever they can, I was watching COPS one night when I saw a perfect example of this. A cop in Jersey busted a guy with a gun, it was loaded with Nyclad ammo, for those that don't know, Nyclad ammo is a lead hollow point bullet with a special nylon coating on it. Far less stopping power than a jacketed hollow point. We all know that hollow points are a serious no no in that state, but this cop was calling the ammo "cop killers", he was saying that the nylon on the lead bullet was to make them go through body armor. This is 100% bullshit propaganda, the nylon on the bullet is to reduce the fouling in the barrel of the gun that they're shot from.
